All right, so I've been waiting for what seems like forever... Blind Guardian's first ever DVD arrives June 14th... hmm... what did they say... oh yeah, something about worldwide! Something about no big deals about region codes and something about websites to pre-order on. It's now Thursday June 17th, the people who can pre-order are the Europeans with their European Region DVD players and their European money and now they're either complaining it hasn't arrived yet or the dvd has and the second disc's code has messed up! First it's not having the correct power outlet adaptors and Toronto gets no Blind Guardian show, then it's the promoters in Texas not agreeming with the band's managment, so no Texas show. Then, the big mistake of a faulty tourbus making its way to see me and it breaks down in Seattle. What do they do? Try and order from some lazy courier service and by the time they get the part, oh looky here, time for the L.A. show then back home to the lucky paradise of Germany. Oh hey, what was that, San Fran Where? Aww, forget it. Hey, don't forget it, I have a desparate friend here. Oh, sure, I'll just make her a little promise here, say something about in case there will be some kind of delay, we'll come back in 2003... it's 2004, you had the BG fest in 2003, now how can I see footage of it, on the DVD! How can I see the DVD?! Answer me that while you hide behind your executives Mr. Handjob Curse!
Looks like some people got some coding problems fixed and for some countries, the entire double dvd works just fine. These said countries all follow some video and sound region code called PAL and I have no flipping idea what that stnad for. There's another we use in North America called NTSC or something and guess who doesn't have two lovely NTSC coded discs sitting near her DVD player getting ready to be watched? Guess who's stuck at home tonight taking care of a new puppy with separation anxiety instead of relieving her own with Hansi and lots of him! Guess who's about ready to pack up a few things, drain her bank account, and find ways to hitchhike and stow away on boats or planes to relocate to Düsseldorf Germany and stay there forever where she'll never ever ever have to complain about anything ever again! Guess who, if she was a mad scientist, would use powers of cloning to turn herself into one Andrea Kürsch, kill off the real one, and enjoy her dream life never struggling to end obsessions or try and figure out what real love is?! I hope they can hear the following all the way over in European Paradise... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I quote from Marcus Siepen himself: "America and Japan are distributing the DVD independently from Europe. There is no exact date, but it will be released very soon." Hmm, wasn't it said somewhere that June 14th was a worldwide release date? Since when did they change it to only in Germany? That's it, fuck the American release, I really gotta get out of here now! It's either killing the obsession or killing my mind and my mind and body are too good to die by my own hands. And am I the only one ranting in this topic, I can't believe no other person feels my pain here. This is December 13th all over again, another fucking broken promise!
You see that's exactly what I'm talking about in the thread I posted yesterday, if I didn't know any better I'd say these executives must have been hired from off the street, I can relate to what you're feeling now as I've had the same shit for the past few days with the morons I've had to deal with. If I had a broadband connection right this minute and I saw someone on one of the Europion hubs on dc++ had it, you can bet that I'd download it right now and burn it on to a cd-r. That's why people like us flock to these file sharing programs because of the crap the industry has been dealing out, so no, you're not alone in dealing with bullshit.
It's not only the bullshit from the executives, and burning a CD-R of the DVD wouldn't help much either, I'd rather wait for the real thing when I was ready again. I feel kind of guilty for my frustration because in December around the 1 year anniversary of the cancelled show, I took the tourbook and spit all over The Promise and the autographs. I had forgotten I did that and now the autographed page is ruined and won't open. I'm looped out of my gourd, I know it.
All right, that's it, I've detinated the H-Bomb! No more listening to anything containing that voice or knowing anything about that person for a long time until I can kill off my obsessive behavior, come back to it all ages later, and go "Oh, this is some cool metal I haven't listened to in ages!" not letting his name and his voice run over and over again in my mind melting my senses. Now, if in this period of absence and abstinence, they decide to come back here and the impossible is possible, if that broken promise is fixed, I'll go to the show and just rebirth my fandom of the band and everything surrounding it. I've let myself realize my own oblivion and I must be reborn. Oh sure, I will find things to fill the void, and I can live without the unnamed one in my presence. I've just given up too easily before, but no longer. So there is my declaration.
Well, guess who the fuck gave up too easily?! Now, guess what happened after I went off my withdrawal? I log onto the official website and there's NO DVD FOR THE US YET!!!!! NNNNNNNNNNYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! I want Hansi and I want him NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!
Well looky here, today's the day, I've FINALLY ordered the DVD and it should be here in a few days. Now, what goes best with a Blind Guardian DVD? How about two Blind Guardian CDs missing from my collection... say Battalions of Fear and Tokyo Tales that were requested in the end of July and supposed to be sent shortly afterward so August 10th could be celebrated properly... but so much for that. Now, forget his birthday, what about mine? I'm turning 21 on the 23rd of this month and those CDs better be there in my mailbox soon or else I'm coming up to Canada and ripping someone's head right off their neck shortly before stealing their entire CD collection. I'm tired of false promises, and so far, even though I'm still waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting for it, there's one that's true. One? I've had too many made before me and broken to continue trusting anyone who makes more.
